Kickstarter.com matches people trying to start a project with others willing to provide funding. A project must do the following:
. A specific amount of money to be raised
. A date that collections stop
. A pitch to encourage signups
The pitch may include a video and an offer to donors.
If the money is raised by the date, donor credit cards are charged for their pledges. If not, the project goes away. Projects can ask for as much money as they like.
